I have worked in image editing for many years, originally working in photo scanning and later as an editor. I spent around thirteen years at NCJ Media working on publications such as The Evening Chronicle, Journal, Sunday Sun and The Pink. In 2019 I started working at Newcastle United Football Club.

Above... Working from the press box at St James' Park and editing back in 2005 whilst working for the then NCJ Media.
The Electronic Picture Desk (EPD) at the former NCJ Media. Here I am waiting for the Sunday Sun to be printed. Its some time after midnight and I'm listening out for the rumble of the press below, once the newspaper is printed I can check the images then get off home.
Do you remember newspapers? At least I can say I was there at the death of the industry.

The Pre-press / Creative Support department at NCJ Media.
The Creative Support department was responsible for setting adverts, scanning/processing editorial and advertising photographs and outputting the film negatives for the various publications (this was before the direct to plate system came into operation). The films were placed into tubes and sent down to the press room where the metal plates were made for the press. I snapped these photos whilst working late shift for the Sunday Sun, I worked in this department for many years before being moved next door (Newsroom EPD) to work exclusively on editorial images.
