The Pre-Press / Creative Support Department at NCJ Media.
The Creative Support Department was responsible for setting advertisements, scanning and processing editorial and advertising photographs, and outputting film negatives for the various publications (this was before the direct-to-plate system came into operation). The films were placed into tubes and sent down to the press room, where metal plates were produced for the printing press.
I took these photographs while working the late shift for the Sunday Sun. I worked in this department for many years before moving next door to the Newsroom EPD, where I worked exclusively on editorial images.
